Saqlain Tariq bagged silver medal after India lost in the final to Chinese Taipei in the final of the Asian Under-23 Volleyball Championship at Maynmar today.
India could not do well in the initial two sets and virtually failed into their efforts to level the score in the fourth set to lose the all important game 1-3 (21-25, 20-25, 25-19, 23-25).
It was not out best day in the office. But I am still extremely proud of the result,” said Indian coach, Pritam Singh Chauhan.
Important to mention here that young Saqlain Tariq belongs to remote district of Poonch and has earned a name for him through exceptional hardwork and devotion to the game of Volleyball.
Meanwhile, in a Whatsapp post, Saqlain writes, “It’s been an incredible journey. Sad that we couldn’t finish with the desired result but all of us really gave our best. A massive thanks to my teammates, our coaching staff and everyone out there who cheered for us. Keep supporting us and we promise to deliver better results in future.”
